Default To all those who are misinformed about 4 door non rubi springs on a 2 door

last night I took off my stock front springs (2008 2dr X base model) no tags on them but Im assuming they are 14/15

and swapped them for 17/18's off a 2008 4 door X

as you can see, I got a good amount of lift from these. much needed after a front bumper and winch sagged down the front over an inch. I had about a half inch of bumpstop clearance (extended bumpstops from the TF BB) before and have about 2 inches now.

With these springs and the TF BB Im now looking like a may need and Adj. Track bar!

So for those that are saying that its not worth the swap (ive even seen WOL say it) If you need that extra 1-1.5 inches, its well worth it!

It certainly is worth it. I put 4 door rubi springs on my front and took my front stockers and put em on a 2 dr and he got about an inch. Good, cheap mod for the 2 door guys.

I installed 4 door Rubi 18/59 on my 2 dr. X and netted 1.25" in front and 1" in back. Coupled with my TF leveling kit I can run 35s no prob. I'm wondering if I should install longer bump stops and shocks now however?

are rubi springs 17/18 in the front? because my 17/18 springs came off of a 4 door X without tow package, thats why i made this thread.

I have 18/58's on my Unlimited Sport without tow, but I do have a hard top. My guess is that it's a bit random. There are a couple stock unlimiteds in town that are a good inch shorter than mine so I know it's not just tow packages and such...

Doing the swap is a great way to get a bit of lift - maybe not enough to upgrade to 35"s, but it will certainly give you a bit more aggressive stance....

really isn't too much rhyme or reason as to the coil numbers from what i've read. not saying that there aren't taller coils on X or Saharas, just seems the 4 dr. rubi coils tend to be the tallest. but as mentioned, easy/cheap lift for that little extra to get a person by until they want to go bananas with a complete suspension lift.

My stock 2 Dr. Rubicon springs were the same length as the 19/60's that I put in. They just had a higher spring rate and netted me about 1.5" of lift after it was all said and done.

And for all you guys/gals that think the Rubicon springs are far better than the "X" springs...you're wrong! When I installed my OME lift I compared the tag numbers on my X to my friends Rubicon and they were the same number! So don't think you need to only buy the Rubicon springs to get the extra lift! My X has the tow package, and dual tops and so did his Rubicon. The Rubicon shocks are a little better though.
