Another set of tube doors
Ok so I’ve had a couple people that say my doors in my latch write up ask for some more info and photos.
I didn’t really take that many photos while doing my doors or many measurements as I kind of did it all by the seat of my pants. Used an old 110v stick welder to bubblegum everything together then took to the welder at work for the finished welds. But here it goes.
After looking at many different designs I decided to use this one I found on jeeptubes.
The tubing was some old hand rail that I got from work. 1 7/16” OD, 3/16” thick.

The hinges are made from a small piece or rod welded to a piece of angle iron so I could set the doors back into the body a bit.

Once the top and bottom pieces were cut I made a wooden jig to hold everything in place, and square, so I could figure out an angle for the angled piece.

Once the angled piece was done I finished the rest of the door, still in the jig.
