Is it vital to you that your tent attach to the Jeep?

I don't find that necessary at all. Lots of good tents to choose from, expensive to downright inexpensive. My backpacking/mountaineering tents tend to be pretty expensive. My tent for general purpose "toss in the Jeep, and go camping" is a "Kelty" (made in China now I'm sure) picked up at Costco for not much at all.

It goes up in mere minutes, even solo, and is easily big enough for two. We've had four in it, a 10 x 10 "umbrella" type tent. Keeps us all dry and has plenty of room. 12 x 12 maybe? Heck, I don't remember. It's a nice, roomy, effective tent and cost under $200.

I REALLY see no need for the tent to attach to the vehicle... If you cut out that requirement, there are gazillions of designs to choose from at all price ranges.

Regards, CW
