4 Door, silver here, realized the inside of the tailgate is getting beat to hell from skis, tools, random junk back there, seems sort of a wierd place for Jeep to be painted, but I digress...

Anyone ever pad it up with some sort of rubber/foam/what have you? --- Not that it ultimately matters what the inside of the tailgate looks like, but things do like to clank off the metal surface, kind of annoying.

 

I assume that simple padding would get torn up too. I Hurculined mine when I did the rest of the interior.

 

If your looking for padding/storage the Smittybilt tailgate gear works great!

 

Perhaps you could cover it with a thick felt-like material or buy some JK carpeting, mount it with adhesive or something like snaps. Then it would match too.

 

Do you have any pics of this? I am interested in doing the same.

 

I think that is the ticket right there. Give me somewhere to put Snatch straps, first aid kit and random stuff of that ilk.
