7, but 8 or even 9 would have been good

The more you apply the easier it seems to cover and the more textured it becomes. A couple more can may have helped with sound proofing more. I don't look for it to make a difference with heat.

to get rid of the smell you could probably wash the inside, hose it out and let it dry a few times that would help. I'm thinking about doing this to my hardtop, i've already done the outside, now i just want to get rid of all that white.

I'm thinking that after the inside is bedlined i want to paint the inserts a slate grey to match interior colors.
Depends on how much money i want to blow on spray paint...

That might help, but the top has too many places for the water to get into.

Did to my last JK exactly what you did.. Didn't do much for sound deadening, but it looked a bunch better.

Just took the hardtop off my new JK and will get it sprayed over the next few weeks.. I might leave it primed and skip the bedline. Duplicolor black sandable primer is pretty good looking, is durable and the per-can cost is have of the bed liner
