To each their own, but I couldn't disagree with you more. IMHO the wild boar sticks up way too high over the windshield line. Looks more like a periscope than a snorkel.

Yeah, I see what you are talking about but I was referring more to the "curves" of it and how it looks like it is a piece of the body and not an addon (except for the top of the periscope). If they sucked the top into the body and made it flush with the roof it would be perfect.

Except, when you get right down to it, lots of stock parts look like "add ons". Fenders. Hinges. Hood latches and nipples. And so on. I went with the AEV ...

As for those of you who don't like the snorkel-look: It's all a matter of opinion, of course. I think that the best looking fenders out there are the stockers, and stingers look downright hideous. But, that's what makes a Jeep so great: We each create our own vision.

The sad part for me......of all the snorkels I've seen, the best looking, by far, was painted PVC tube topped by a skull.

I'm partial to the AEV snorkel but wouldn't run one because of my current roofrack situation. So hopefully the Rugged Ridge one will suit my needs when they announce it in the coming weeks. It's too bad that it won't be available till August but it's still the only option for a short snorkel that can be returned back to stock if you ever wanted to.
