Cheap Tailgate Storage
I was in Wally World the other day and noticed these little Jeep backpacks (Like they are made for a toddler). I thought it was pretty cool so I got one. Works great for little items (my wife called it my "man purse"). Had the idea just come to me, if I could strap these to my JK they would make great small storage..... Mount em on my tailgate? Ran back to Wal-Mart and got 2 more. $9.00 each

I cut off the straps.

I used self taping metal screws and gromets, or whatever those things are called. Home Depot $3.00

I turned the top hoop backwards and stuck 2 screws thur the backpack and the hoop.

I left the little tabs from the bottom of the straps on and stuck 2 more screws thru each side tab.

Screwed them to my tailgate and wala!! Storage!!!

You can even get a 3rd on the tailgate if you want. Very cheap mod (Total $21 before tax). What do you guys think?

Great minds think a like, I was getting ready to post a new thread when I search for "Jeep Backpacks" to see if someone had already did this, which I was sure someone had. The only thing I did diff was attach with the two tape wire clips also found at WallMart. I did not like the idea of drilling.

The next project will be duffles in the rear wheel well areas. I won't use the Jeep duffles though because the color does match my black and silver theme.
Then light duty backpacks to attach to the rear seat. One on each side, I am going to extend the waste belt to go around each split, so I can still fold the seat down and take them off and use them for hiking etc. Good thing I learned to sew.
