Has anyone commissioned a welder to add to the factory sport bar rather than purchasing one of the ready made kits available elsewhere? (I'm not talking about REMOVING the OEM sport bar and doing a full custom cage, for the record.)

If so, what type tubing was used, what did the work cost you, did you do anything you now regret or would do differently a second time and, importantly, can you provide a few photos?
