They look really nice, I was thinking on doing the same thing, but the guy at the tire shop told me to use the red scotchbright and the Rust-Oleum High Heat Grill Paint, he said that it is resistant to rocks and heat, even when they replace the tires, I have a damaged wheel so I'm going to try both ways and I'll let you guys know.

Rust-Oleum High Heat Grill Paint $6.99 you can get it @ Walmart

i've used the BBQ paint before on other things and it flaked on me . I was not impressed. If you want the satin look without using bedliner use Duplicolor Engine enamel. Very easy to use and gives the same texture as the bbq paint with the temp resisitance.

For those wondering about durability, I did my last summer and they have held up great. The only places where I am seeing the need to be touched up at all is the outer lip where the wheel weights are. I figured this would be the weakest point as that is the area where I masked off the tires from the rim. I'll try to get some pictures later to give you a visual of how they have held up.

Due to the fact that the wheels have some "texture" to them.....how are they with looking dirty? IE) retaining dirt etc?

If you wash the rims by hand with a scrub brush you will still have some stubborn dirt that won't come off. It gives the rims a slightly faded look. Personally I think the rims still look good and it doesn't bother me. If you really can't stand it, all the dirt comes off when you hit it with a power washer you find at those do it your car washes and the rims look just like new again.

Cool. That's good to know :-) thanks! I always go to a diy carwash right up the street from my house...I get free wash cards from my boss. He owns it. That's great. I'm gonna seriously contemplate this :-)
