I plan on continueing the work tomorrow, i was going to work tonite but thx the way my shop was built and the rain downpour we had, my shop is like a lake tonite. Not a dry spot on the concrete floor. It will be nice tomorrow so can open doors and dry out while i make progress! I got jeep fever....this is taking too long. My have to go rent a jeep to get my topless fix!

Here is my saturday update. I have finished stripping the frame. All removable stuff has been unbolted/unclipped from frame and all clips removed.

Steering came off all as a unit,
The front swaybar stayed together-yay
The evap and skid came off-skid plate for sale soon, im relocating it higher.

Now to just remove the motor mounts and all the slag remnants of the factory control arm mounts from the torch procedure and buff all that up to weld on the new TeraFlex long arm mounts. Exciting indeed!

Ok! Progress has resumed. I got my teraflex brackets back from sand blaster today and the bare frame is accross street at my friends house who has welding skills i dont possess.

All of the old brackets have been removed(including the engine mount brackets) and i cleaned up the front long arm mounts and he is welding them on now, when he is done i will go back over and prep the rears and let him weld then gonna drag the LS motor and trans over and mock them up to ensure the mounts are located correctly then weld them on as well. Very exciting. Things are moving along slowly but steadily!

The pics are not in order. Some of the rear brackets we put in place to have an idea where to remove paint from frame rails.

Ill post more pics later of welded parts! Yay!

Beautiful welds on the motor mounts! I love these farm builds - I wish I had room for a workspace like that!

The electronics side of this was acually the easiest part. The jeep body retains 90%of harnesses and electronics.

The engine/trans/transfercase has one or two big cam lock connectors to body at firewall and thats it.

The front diff locker/swaybar/wheel sensors harness has one big conector beside the radiator

And lastly the stupid battery connection and ground wire to hood-learned my lesson on that the hard way during the body removal lifting.

I am going to 40" tires. (If i have room, i will go bigger, thats why i got the tall lift. If the lift proves to be too tall, its not much effort to go lower.)

I concidered RK but was not thrilled by the axle modified three link in rear at all.

The evo kit necessitated body mods to floorboard for the lever kit-veto on that.-same reason i wont get a gen right add on fuel tank. Not messing with jeep body inside at all. Period.

At the time that i ordered this lift kit(damn near 1.5 yrs ago.). Not as much was known about metalcloak.

I wanted an all encompassing kit that covered alot of the various things needed to be addressed for this much lift and Teraflex had it, relatively inexpensive. Is it the best kit ever.....no.

But i do like it. There is very few peeps around me with jk's that lift more than 2.5 budget boost or if its lifted more they used skyjacker...im not a fan of skyjacker....at all!

If i were more skilled at suspension modification like Dirtman, i would have peiced together a fabulous assortment of parts and gone the ori route. I am not a fabricator in the slightest. Im just not scared to take stuff apart either.

In hindsight, 4" kit would have gotten the job done but the redkneck in me said bigger-better-faster! And history of me has proven time and time again, redkneck side has the wallet! Lol
