Fab and corrosion
I have a local shop willing to fab the sliders and bumpers for my '08 JKU. Any issues with corrosion in the hard to reach places of the metal vs a commercial products finish's? I like the idea of going with a local guy and getting to customize the parts but I'm concerned about the ability to put on a finish that will last in areas not easy to touch up.
Thanks Tim

Powder coating or Electrostatic paint is your best bet. The electrical charge pull the Powder or paint into all the nooks and crannies however nothing can over come the laws of physics....
Depends where you live. Most cities have shops that do it just google it. Last time i had a bumper powder coated i wasnt in a rush so they through it in with a large batch of black items and i think he only charged me 50 bucks.
Me and a friend of mine fabbed my rear bumper. I was worried about rusting also. I used the duplicolor spray on bed liner and after about 3 weeks i had spots of rust peeking through. I stripped the bumper and had it powdercoated. Then i used the duplicolor roll on bed liner and poured it into the back side of the bumper so it filled all the hard to reach spots. Then painted the outside nice and thick. No rust or corrosion in the last few months in chicago winter.

Have it fabbed up. You should be able to find a powder coater close. If not, get a good etching primer and epoxy paint or sprayable bedliner and paint them yourself. No matter what though, you'll get a scratch or dent eventually. Especially sliders. When I scratch mine (EVOs) on rocks, I sand them down after I clean them and hit them with some paint or bedliner.
