Thanks for the compliments guys. I've wanted to do this since I got the winch. I didn't want the top sitting on the floor, and risk getting damaged. I also didn't want it hanging from the ceiling, and have somebody walk into it, or have to duck under it all the time. Putting it up in the rafters seemed like my best option. I work in construction, and the company I work for has a structural engineer on staff, so redesigning the trusses was no big deal.

Agreed... Very kewl...
I did mine 2 days ago but i'm lucky enough to have a 15' cieling.. So it actually goes above the garage door when its open..
I would hate to have a low cieling and have it hanging right at head level..
