Default Front Bumper Build

Materials: $50
Mig welder, stick welder, plasma cutter, milling machine, grinders...: Hopefully she does not find out
Labor: Free
Expression on wife's face after putting it on the jeep: semi-priceless

So here are the build pics:

2X5X 3/16" rectangular tubing (in progress)

Test fit of foglight and fairlead

Fabricated shackle mount (mounts in slot so if the welds fail...

Added coverplate on both sides (4" pipe fits the factory fogs perfectly):

Adding material here and there:

Finished the sides/ top:

Paint, mount, just add winch plate and winch:

Now I have to try and get stuck....

The boss wanted to see how it looked first since it is the daily driver. I may attempt a square tubing stinger or "winch guard" since i do not have a tubing bender...perhaps this is an excuse to get yet another tool...

you dont necessarily need a tube bender to make a stinger, i've done a lot of work with butt weld corners (45 or 90 degree) and just weld it all together, turns out well and you can't even tell they were not bent.

The winch plate is custom. Basically it is a 6" x 6" x 3/8" thick angle between the frame with cutouts for the cable and fog lights. It is secured to the bumper via the inner bumber bolt mounts.

I intend to add additional tabs to attach to the stock bracketry on the inner side of the frame.

Next time it is off I will photograph and update the thread.

Thanks for the compliments.
