full float D60
I have Seen full and semi float D60's break. Although not on a JK, but I have not wheels with many JK's (comparatively).
But I have seen 4dr JK's tiping the scales at 5500+ pounds. And not having the weight of the vehicle on the shaft certainly helps it to last.
But I guess my view point is that if/when I go to dump that kind of money into axles, I am not going to go with a 5 lug semi float setup. It will be an 8 lug, full float setup. Partly for the full float strength and ability to drive with the shaft removed, and partly because I have seen too many people break wheel studs running 38"+ tires on half ton 5 lug setups.

The bottom line is- A D60 in whatever flavor you choose is the way to go for a most of our needs of serious wheeling

So does that mean Dynatrac is shipping FF D60 rear axles now.
Does anyone have some good closeup pics of the rear FF especially the tone rings etc

Dynatrac makes a rear Pro Rock 60 in a full floater for JK's. One has been installed in my JK and a few others here on the forum. Yes, you can run larger than 37" tires on a semi-float safely because everything is just bigger on D60. But "full floaters" give you an exponential amount of strength over semi-float axles, for me it was worth the extra cost for that security.

The photos in my posting that you responded to, is the full float option Pro Rock 60 on my JK. I don't have a picture of the tone rings, but I have looked right at them on the axle yesterday in amazement that everything from Dynatrac works like it came that way from the jeep factory. Check my album "JK on 40"s" in my profile, there are some more photos of the rear axle. Hope this helps out.
Last I recalled .You have SOLID axles .Dynatrac sells complete axle I dont beleve thay sell retro fits for other brand aftermarket axles .
to convert to full floater is not a simple task at this point, it would requires cutting and welding along with a fixture to keep it straight.
Dynatrac does sell full floater rear axles for JK even 8 lug now .
it may be cost effective to sell those axle and buy the axles you are wanting to build now.
