What transmission? If Manual, you should be ok without re-gearing - won't be the best, but probably not bad either from what I've read. If it's an automatic, it would probably feel dogged.

I know you're in Indiana, but SLC down in Texas is running a special on re-gearing to 4.88s or 5.13s for $999.99. Most places would probably charge between $1,200 - $1,500 be my guess.

I have an auto, 4.10 LS with 35s and a 4" lift - when I get ready to regear, I'm going with 5.13s. Several that have gone to the 4.88s on an automatic have mentioned that if they had to do it again, they'd probably go with the 5.13s.

so if i was going to do the same thing, does that $1000 pay for both front and rear gears or just back? Do you have to do front also?
thanks

Yes, the $1000 is for both and yes you have to do both the front and rear, if you only do the rear when you put it in 4wd the axles would turn at different speeds creating a huge problem!
