Got hit by a drunk driver last night......

Got hit by a drunk driver last night......
Jeep 1 Jetta 0
Heading home from work.... going down Hwy66 doing about 55-60.... Midnight.. Look in rear view mirro.. car coming up fast... BAM!!!!!
Tags me... rear of Jeep lifted up as he tried to drive under me......
Jeep swerved from side to side and the dude passed me on left and drove away!!! Hood was all up in window Nascar style.... he pulled over after about a mile with me pulling up behind him.... got maglight out.... for various reasons.... dude was way wasted... wanted me to take his license and credit card.......
Nope.. was a cop for 20 years... aint letting a DUI go to kill someone else....
told guy cops were on the way... was on phone with dispatch... dude said F this and drove away.... they found him a few miles away....
He spent a lovely night in the pokey....
Kinda of hard to see in this pic.. sorry at accident only had Blackberry... but that is his front bumper part and license plate jammed in my rear right wheel well well in front of my rear bumpstop..

Damage to the JK.... Thank God I bought that bumper... No body damage I can see.. gonna have it checked out tomorrow...

Rubber stops pushed in due to angle of bumper

So all in all.... very little damage from being hit. Note to those with stock bumpers... get them replaced with a real bumper...... Rugged Ridge.. thanks for protecting my baby!!! Ill be ordering a new one... well his insurance will be....

Glad you are OK. Your JFK certainly looks like it faired better than his VW!

My lift and aftermarket bumper has protected me twice in the last 2 months.
Both times I was sitting at a red light. 1st guy in a suburban couldn't stop in the snow and hit me hard. Took out his brush guard, grill, bumper, radiator and hood. 2nd guy never stopped (45mph zone) hit the Tundra behind me and slammed him into me. Tundra was totaled, the guys Dodge 2500 wiped out his front end and radiator, my JK had a scratch on the bracket behind the spare tire.
So far everyone seems to hit my beadlocked spare and bounce off!! Thank God!!
