Default Got sick of the bubbling hinges

For the past 8 months or so the paint on the door hinges has gotten worse and worse, to the point I could push my finger into the bubbles and cause them to crack. Brilliant idea on their part to put aluminum hinges with steel pins...

Anyway, I went out and picked up some spray on paint remover, stuff worked amazing!
Right down to the bare metal in about 20 mins, sanded down the aluminum oxidation then cleaned them up and scuffed them a bit then used spray bedliner on them, I am very happy with how they came out.
Time will tell how they hold up, easy enough to touch them up.
Next up are the hood hinges....

Did you take the hinges off the Jeep and doors to paint?

T50

yes, no way I would want to try and use that stripper or even spray bedliner with them on, removing them is easy and putting them back on correctly is simple because the factory paints the jeep with the hinges on, so just match them up and tada, all my doors are hung correctly...

Because they are painted with them on I was wondering if any cracking/spider lines etc. happened on the doors or body?

Take a fresh X-acto blade and run along the parting seam between the hinge and body and you'll prevent any cracking as you remove them.
That's what I did when I pulled the hinges off my doors.
