ive seen alot of people on here talking about half doors like their worth their weight in gold. are they really that rare? i have some on mine and i love them and all but the leaks are ungodly.. been to the dealership like 8 times in 4 months. this past time they actually had to heat up the 2 metal pieces that slide down inside the top of the door and bend them towards the body to stop the leak.. works so far.. anyways i was just wondering what the big deal was with the half doors.

 

Far, far more JK's come with full doors, making the halfs a lot more rare. It's as simple as that... some people want them just because they are rare, I guess, who knows.

I like my full doors for my JK b/c it is a daily driver (quieter, no leaks, etc), but would be nice to have a set of half doors for weekends, top off rides, or offroading. For the price though, I'll just remove my doors all together and saves thousands. LOL.

 

i want them for summer use, for winter i want the fulls. if i could have bought both i would have. but NOT the $2500 or so people are talking to build them up. that's just crazy talk.

Cheapest I've ever seen them go, used, was like $2k I believe... I saw some people asking for like $3k plus trade of full doors and stuff. As Happy said - that's crazy.

 

I wish I could get a set for the back. So the uppers would look like part of the soft top, and the top of the half door would continue the top line of the tub. Kind of an LJ look for the JK

 

Not yet available as a full purchase item (close though) To piece them together is around 2500 IIRC.

I'll wait until i find some local, if ever. I have Or-Fab tube doors for the summer.

 

that is crazy.. the only thing i dont like about them is since my side mirrors are mounted on the body instead of the door, the only time i can see my passenger side mirror is when the top of the half door is off. thinking about getting the mirrors that go on the door instead.

 

what kind of half doors do you have??

Mopar ones the mirror is on the door.

 

im not really sure.. they seem stock.. they have little circle shaped inserts where the mirror should go. bought mine used so had 1 owner before me.the only thing i can see that they did to it aftermarket would maybe be the hella lights in front of the windshield and painted the rear differential cover to match the RED ROCK CRYSTAL paint..
