Homebrew Gussets and truss
Has anyone tried to fab any C gussets or a truss for a front rubi44? I was thinking of pulling the axle and doing some welding this weekend, but cant see anywhere that anyone has fabbed their own.

Also, you can just get some angle iron to run along the top, bottom, or both sides of the axle tubes instead of sleeves. People been doing that for years. Not the best, but better than nothing.

The sleeves that I put in my friends D30 (Teraflex) are 2" .250 wall tubing. I was looking at my local steel supply and all they had was 2" .125 wall. This would be better than the sock tube, but i dont think its worth doing. I looked at steel online but it seems to cost as much as it would if you bought the kit from TF.
Does anyone have a good online steel supply they use? I want to do this as well.

i used 2"x2" square tubing cut the bottom off and had the guy at work in the machine shop mill slots so no water could build up between the axle tube and the tubing, then broke out the welding machine and welded it up. Also put a small section on the opposite side of upper ca bracket and then gusseted the upper ca bracket from both sides.
