Default How bad is this?

Why did this happen and is it something I need to get fixed ASAP? I installed a 2.5 coil spacer lift about 2 months ago.

It's time for new driveshafts.

When you lifted your Jeep it put a steeper angle on your drive shaft. That rubber fitting wasn't made to do that. I have a 2 door and the same thing happened. Time for a new drive shaft. One with a double cardan joint. Like this

You can still run with the one you have for some time until all the grease slings out and dries up. At that point it will lock up and either break the drive shaft or damage your transfer case or front pinion. There are a bunch of aftermarket driveshafts. I went with JE Reel.

Fact--- get it replaced quick-- I had exact same thing- but the rear and blew mine out, caused major damage to my axles and transfer case- blew up the front last month fortantly the dealer sold me warranty on a used jeep bumper to bumper... So they had to replace everything. If not I'd be out $7500...

REPLACE ASAP and get atleast lower adjustable arms to correct the pinion angles...

Lower adjustable arms -- front and rearbuy either aftermarket shafts or get some custom made

I may be in the same position, going with a 2.5. Do you need control arms for after market driveshafts? I will have aev brackets or the front but what about the rear?

You don't "need" adjustable lower control arms to run aftermarket drive shafts but getting them and installing them together helps. If you only got the drive shafts you'd be fine but with the control arms you can adjust the pinon angle so that the everything is operating closer to spec. No vibration or dreaded death wobble. Plus since you'd have things torn apart already you'd have to do it once. I wouldn't wait to get it fixed thats for sure.

So I would just need rear uppers? Otherwise I would get vibration? Again, I'll be tackling the front geometry with aev brackets.
