The direction of the louvers when on the trail makes no difference. You just want the hot air to be able to escape out the top.

On the highway, you want the louvers to pull air out of the engine bay, to allow more air to pass through the radiator.

The closer the louvers get to the windshield, the more likely they are to be in a high pressure area, which would be counterproductive to getting air out of the engine bay, at highway speeds.

I agree...that's the point of them, to pull out not shove in.. Shove in we call them hood scoops. Look at old war planes like p51 mustangs. That's where they came from and some car guys started putting them on hot rods to cool engine compartments.

My first concern was rain and snow on the hot engine. But then I saw Dubai and your louver direction made more sense to me. Looks great and I'm sure it will help with heat dissipation. Good job.

So here is a newbie question for you guys.....is the heat that bad in the JK engine bay that this is necessary?
