I am interested in a snorkel but how does it work with CAI. Does it close of the box entirely?

I need to check if Volant makes a snorkel for the JK

It works off the stock airbox i believe. I don't think i've seen any snorkel mix with a CAI

i think you re right, the snorkel works off the OEM air box and i have not heard of any body using CAI with a snork

actually a snorkel is like a CAI in a way if you use a good filter,

Both the AEV and River Raider use the stock box. It is much easier to build something around what every JK has, rather than the dozens of different CAI's. Likely you'll need to do a custom setup, or put the stock box back in.

A snorkel is actually more of a CAI than a CAI. A snorkel takes the "cold" air from outside. A so called CAI (cold air intake - not properly named in my opinion) takes warm/hot air from under the hood.

The AEV snorkel uses the stock air box and it seals it off completely, as much as possible. It doesn't turn it in to a submarine.

Volant makes a snorkel but IMO it is ugly
