Installed a Surveillance system in the JK.
First, you are probably asking why....? Or wondering What motivated this project. I work in network video surveillance, for a camera manufacturer. Having plenty of demo gear at my disposal I felt the need to mod away.
I used a small rugged camera system inside my jeep which will record video anytime the jeep is powered up. Down the line I plan to add a dual battery system and have the ability to leave the cameras on when desired. I also plan to add a wireless solution to the truck. Since the cameras are just another IP device I could access them remotely given I had a wireless connection.
Equipment used:
-Axis F44 Main Unit
-Axis F1035-E and F1005-E sensors
- Veracity Camswitch Mobile PoE switch
Camera Mounting Locations:
Above rear view mirror

On rear roll bar

On windshield light tab

Camera 1 view

Camera 2 view

Camera 3 view

Don't mind the inaccurate time stamps on the pics. I had not programedd the cameras yet.
All video is stored locally on SD cards as of now.
I also have another camera retrofitted into a housing on the bumper. I will post a picture of that shortly.
Everything is housed in a waterproof enclosure in the cargo area

Now you're going to have to wear pants when you drive.
Very nice. Motion activation on the internal cameras would be awesome. Those look like nice cameras too. High quality footage. And a very clean install. Nice work!
And welcome to JK-Forum!

I can set them up for motion activation easy, it's built into the system.
The snapshots below are in 1080p
