Default ipf driving lights question

I just installed the wiring for these lights, have to order the bracket before I can install them on my ARB bumper. Didn't realize it Anyhow, they are the 55 watt 6" round and I plan on mounting them to my front bumper. My question is how did you wire them up. Mine are wired to only come on on high beam. Does anyone run these lights with there low beams on? Friend of mine who helped me wire them up said that they are suppose to run only when your off road and not on road. Can anyone chime in please..

Thanks
Chris

No one has offroad or driving lights on the front of there jeep. It seems to me that if they are driving lights then you should be able to drive with them on while on the road. They also came with a 55 watt bulb and a 100 watt bulb. Why is that. Anyone know

I use a set of them as fog lights but they aren't that great as driving lights.

How you wire them up will determine if they come on with high/ low/ etc circuit. They are supposed to be wired to the high beam circuit so you only use them off-road or when you're isolated on the road. The bulb difference is probably if you want to go to a longer range light, I'm not sure since I kept the 55w bulbs in mine.

All on a tj as the fog lights on the OEM circuit. The aux lights on that jeep include some rigid dually D2's so the ipf's are fine as fogs.

So karis, did you hard wire your lights in order to use them as fog lights or did you wire them to come on on low bean?

The ipf's are wired directly into the factory pigtails so they are only fog lights- again, on a TJ so I know the computer has the power to run them.

It sounds like you may want to wire them on their own switch so you can control when they come on. Having them only on with the high beams kinda sucks but you also don't need them on with the low beams 24/7.

Like I said though- I use them as fogs because of the little bit of space they light up. They work well for that purpose.
