Default Jim's Modest Mods

I got my 2014 JK Sport in granite with 6spd and 3.21 gears 10 months ago. It has the connectivity group and AC but not much else. It's basic, just like I wanted. This is my daily driver and will never be a hardcore rock crawler but who can resist a few mods. I'm always on a budget and just wanted to document a few of my low cost mods. I appreciate any and all comments critiques.

Not a fan of the 'sport' stickers. A few hours in the summer sun and they peeled right off. A dab of WD40 and the residue came off nicely. A quick wash and wax completed the mod. Cost - Free

I want some auxiliary lighting. When I started this project I didn't know what a relay was or why I needed one and so the Spod looked like a good choice but I found three faults with it. Firstly, cost, $520 for the dual LED option is pretty steep. Secondly, it's not waterproof. Thirdly, I preferred the switches on the A-pillar. The solution. RUgged ridge A-pillar switch pod with OTRATTW switches and a homemade relay box. In the end I like the look better total cost was around $350. It would have been cheaper but I didn't really know what I was doing and bought a lot of stuff I ended up not using.

With the wiring in place all I need is lights. I have always been a fan of round lights on a jeep but I kinda fell in love with the look of the rigid dually. Love the look, the low power draw and the small size. Unfortunately they won't be in the budget for some time. I purchased Chinese knockoffs on amazon. Genssi 5w LED floods were $38 shipped. I'm sure they won't be as durable and the optics are surely inferior but good enough for now. I want a new bumper eventually anyway so I drilled them into the bumper rather than spending $65+ on mounts. I used a little silicon on the inside of the bumper to keep water from dripping on the factory fogs.

Love riding with the doors off. Hate the seat belt flapping constantly. Seatbelt pads for $2 each at Walmart fixed the problem

So far I've been pleased with my Chinese LEDs. Ordered a pair of 20w LED 8 degree spots from explosivepowersports.com, $72 shipped. Trying to decide between poison spyder and rigid A-pillar mounts.
