Just because I can, towing with the JK
I had to move a swing set for the kids so I borrowed my buddies trailer. While I had it I had to hook it up and tow the wife's Pilot around just because. I wanted to see how it handled it. I just took it out for a short drive as the trailer brakes weren't hooked up because I haven't installed my brake box in the Jeep yet.
I was actually impressed with how it took off from a stop and how it handled it at speed. Stopping was weak, but I knew it was going to be. A panic stop with no brakes would have been really bad, would have pushed me all over the place.
I would never tow with these tires of course, but just haven't changed them out yet to my street tires. Going to pull the bass boat this weekend, so I'll snap some from that trip.
Conclusion, would I do it like this all the time, no. Would I do it in a pinch, with brakes, yes. I could see a TJ on a lightweight trailer in my future, using the JK and a tow rig.
Here's a couple of pics
