No, I do not own one, no need for it.

I keep two knives in my Jeep and I'm in the UK. OK, one is a Leatherman but I have others that I take with when out in the "wilds". It's a necessary tool. I use at least one of them pretty much daily, too.

Yeah, cops who pull you over are going to LOVE that.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but there are cops out there who would bust your balls if they found out you had a large knife (or any weapon) readily within reach of the driver. Cops generally do not like that. And when you piss off a cop... they will often times make things rough for you.

Gotta love Texas I was pulled over had 44 magnum in glove box 1911 on passenger seat and 6.8 with night vision scope on passenger floor. I got a ticket for going 62 in a 35.. He asked about the weapons but no issues. Texas your vehicle is an extension of your home you are allowed to have a concealed gun in your vehicle granted my guns where not concealed but I was heading to the gun range.

I don't eat steak in my Jeep. I just feel that having a weapon within arms reach of you is unnecessary, mind you, I do not live in the same country as you.

Until you get ass raped by a lowland gorilla. With a mind set like that you'd be the submissive in any situation. A knife is a tool. I have never used my knife as a weapon and I have had one on my person, in my vehicle and multiple places throughout my house. A knife is as much of a weapon as the jeep you drive, and with intent your jeep is a more deadly weapon than a knife. So be gone with your poor attitude and thought process. Thanks!!!

I really do not think I am the one with the poor attitude, I was merely asking a simple question. And most of the reply's that came back to me were as if I had attacked you. I guess I now know why SOME of you carry them so close, you are always feeling like you are about the be attacked.

My folding knife has a clip on it so I used the clip and just hooked it right where the seat belt comes out right next to the door.

Being a son of a career police officer, and having this discussion about carrying a firearm or knife is all about how YOU act with it. If you are up front and let the officer know that yes you have a gun on you or you have a large man killing knife (as sillybubba thinks) in the vehicle or on your person you'll be surprised how cool for the most part they are. I carry daily and have had probably 3 or 4 instances in the past 15 years where I disclosed to an officer that I was carrying and they thanked me for letting them know and were very respectful and decent. Its all about your demeanor and your intent. Don't be a dipshit or disrespectful and you would be surprised how well you get treated
