Locking hubs on a JK?
Try researching "Spintec", I think they make conversions. However, it ain't cheap. You are looking at new wheels due to bolt pattern, center hole size, etc. It's been done by a few people on the forum, I think, but it can be done.
Anyone else got any thoughts on that?
What I haven't got my head around is whether there is a weight and nimbleness advantage of the ProRock44 which makes it superior for my daily driver use ....

Actually I'm almost 100% certain you could have ordered the PR44 with the 60 outers and had what you are looking for but from what Mel (ORE) told me that setup would end up costing nearly as much as a D60 and you'd still have the 44 housing.
The outers end up being a pretty costly portion of the setup.

I've been thinking about this on and off for several years now (I really would like locking hubs) but haven't pulled the trigger. Lately I've been thinking that although it's more $$$$, by the timer you have upgraded to a ProRock44 and spyntech you might be better just going straight to a ProRock 60..

First, thanks for correcting my spelling of Spyntech guys. That's exactly why I sunk the money into ProRock 60's instead of piecing it together.

The rugged ridge booth at SEMA had a selectable hub kit for the d30 that did not require different offset or hub bore. The rep. I spoke with said they were working on a d44 version as well. I'll post a pic later.
