Made my own GoPro setup for $160. Vids inside
So I got to looking at a camera I had and how I could mount it on my jeep GoPro style. I went to Lowe's and bought a 90* bracket and some misc rubber washers and a wingnut screw. Voila - GoPro for $160! It works great. Some vids below, and a link to the camera. This camera is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. It will do 12mp stills and 1280 video. This will probably work with just about any camera but this Fuji is great. I have dropped it, taken underwater video and pics and even left it outside in the sun and dust. It still works like a champ. With a 16gb class 4 sd card you can get 2500 pics or about an hour of 320 video. I ran out of battery before I ran out of disk at 320. I bought it awhile back but this is the first time I have put it on my jeep. I will post some pics of the mount set up when I get home today. It is so simple yet so effective.

Updated with pics of mount and mounted on jeep. I have the doors on in the pics so its a little harder to reach in front of the mirror but on the trail with doors off its in a perfect spot to power on, start/stop video. Even with the mirrors/doors it would be do able.
The Parts.

The receipt if you want part names. The butterfly screw is actually a Ford air filter screw they had at lowes in the auto parts bin. This actually might fit most cameras as most mounts are universal. Good find I think!

Mounted on the A pillar screws. The bracket was in the lumber section. Dont get one you can bend easily. It will probably vibrate to much.

I did have to ream out the hole I used to mount it before the window screw would fit. I think it was a 1/4" bit then wiggled it a little more to make a nice snug fit. The order from outside in was screw, bracket, rubber washer, rubber grommet so you dont scratch the paint. Then screw it back into place.

The mount your camera. As i said this will probably work for most cameras as the wingnut screw should be universal. I also ran my cam lanyard through another hole in the bracket just in case my mounting method was unstable. But it was not at all. I just do it to keep it out of the way now.

Closeup of the camera mount. Order is wingnut, plastic nut for spacing as the wingnut was to long, bracket, rubber washer, rubber gromet, camera.

If you dont crank the A pillar mount down to hard it will allow for some movement. The plastic nut and rubber washer allow for movement of the camera as well. So you can position it exactly where you want and it wont move.

As you never use it on your jeep your post seems irrelevant.

BTW, was shocked when I saw those vids were from Bridgeport last weekend. Lots of green, instead of brown and dusty.
