Man Stick ( 6 speed Manual) Check In
When my wife and I are in the market for a Wrangler - new or used, we walk away when we see it's an auto! I was even disappointed when we couldn't get a manual trans for her 2011 GC. To us, if it's not a stick, it's not a real Jeep! Same goes for sports cars.
Ride on!
Ride on!
I do have to throw this out there. I do enjoy driving a stick shift even though I'm currently in an auto the title of this thread is funny. It's a group of guys staying they're more manly cause they are handling a man stick!! Just food for thought(pun intended)
Lol. Good point. I think people who start threads like this have manhood issues. Lol
Hope your not referring to me. Lol. I've driven both and grew up on manuals. My next jeep will likely be a manual as I miss driving them but it doesn't make me anymore of a man because it will be a manual or I can drive a manual. Lol that's all I'm saying. Both are fun to drive and a a jeep is a damn jeep regardless of what transmission is in it lol. I'm just poking fun as this thread is
Looks like cutman is just starting trouble - it says in his profile his JK is a stick!
If you read the initial post, I don't think it's intended to immascualte men, it is about the fun and nostalgia of driving a stick.
I prefer manuals because I feel more connected to my machine and have more control. You can't upshift an auto to 3rd to get more traction on a slick surface. If you're making a pass, you don't have to wait for it to downshift as you would in an auto - all automatic Jeeps (and most cars) have this issue, unless it's got a 'hemi' I suppose!
I'm with DunnyBunny though. If it's a Jeep, it catches my eye, and I give the Jeep wave not even thinking of the trans. It's a Jeep thing!
I have to throw this out there however. I taught my wife (then girlfriend) to drive a manual on my first Wrangler.
If she sees a guy with a bada$$ Jeep (or muscle car, Porsche, etc...), and it's an auto, she mumbles an adjective that I don't think I can post here - just sayin!
