Well we can't account for everyone's mentality. Oh well. Still a cool thread. I am always happy to run into a fellow Jeeper with a manual. Out here in California at least it is super rare. In fact most other Jeepers I run into are surprised to find that I wanted a manual with our traffic out here. My wife doesn't get it either. I am trying to teach her to drive it but she gets so freaked out by the whole process! HAHA! Would be awesome if she would settle in and learn to drive the thing! What's cooler than a cute girl driving a manual Jeep!?!?!

@PG-JKU My first car was a '77 MGB. 4 speed plus overdrive switch. That electrical system had me busy one weekend a month or more. Still have my original multimeter, 18 years later.

I waited 4 months to find the jeep I wanted (and bought). I saw it online and told them to hold it until the next day. 6 speed, crank windows, manual mirrors, and preferred no AC (this one had it so I guess I sort of settled?). They said it was being detailed and would be done the next day at 3:30. I showed up at 3:15 and as the guy pulled it around I told him he could hand me the keys because I would be the next one driving it. Anyways, I feel they look funny with an auto in them. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't know what to do with my hand in an auto. I drove my buddies stock auto Sahara and I was totally confused. I didn't have to jump into it, there was no shifting and he has a four door so it felt like driving a boat. Anyone driving a JKU has my respect, I couldn't deal with all that extra length.

Same here go the bea rbones version with 3.73/hardtop/a.c ( I live in south texas where humidity is high)power NOTHING.

Today as I was driving to work, I got to a light and a topless cj5 pulled up with a man in his 70's-80's, cj5 was a manual. We gave each other a thumbs up and went on our way. I love Jeeps, love the people and the life style.

Barebones new to me 2012.

Bought 1 week ago with 53000km on the clock.

6 Speed

First manual vehicle I've ever owned, granted the list has been short. Coming from an 06 GMC Canyon. Worried about using a clutch off road, I guess the only way to master it is seat time.
