Default MBRP is the real f'in deal!!

a couple of sunday's ago i was washing the winter shit off of my jeep and while i was spraying my front mbrp bumper the powder coat started flaking off around the four mounting bolts on each side. there was also a fairly large area of rust forming on the passenger side face of the bumper.

i was not pleased as the bumper was only 8 months old and this was the first winter it had seen. i took pictures and shot them off to steve at mbrp sunday night.

promptly monday morning steve called me, which impressed me right away. he immediately expressed his regrets and stated this was unacceptable. he proceeded to state how they stood behind their products 100 percent and he would make it right. there was no bullshit, no fast talk and he was genuinely concerned.

he offered a couple of courses of action to which i accepted a newer style non winch bumper. the one i had was the older style winch mount. instead of going through the pia of them shipping me the new one and me switching them out and then shipping them back the old one i decided to road trip it and pick the new one up.

they removed the old bumper and installed the new one all on their dime. didn't cost me one cent. how freakin cool is that.

it gets better. while i was at their shop i was checking out their two rigs. they were both on the hoist having work done prepping them for moab. let me tell ya dudes, those rigs are sick. the pictures of them do not do them justice. the paint work is killer, as is everything else. and their roof rack seen in person is simply amazing. i don't give a shit if the ends bend 90 degrees into the hard top or not, this is the nicest rack available hands down.

anyway, i commented on the windshield light bar mounted on the two door and steve said it was a prototype and was coming off before going to moab. it is a fully welded one piece unit and rocks. steve offered to sell it to me for a very sweet price........done deal.

it was a great trip and i would like to say a huge thanks to steve and mbrp for their time and effort. i truly appreciated it. they make top quality products which they believe in and back 100 percent.

and now, some pics.

Just curious- could you reuse the factory tow hooks:

to mount this bumper, or are the bolts not long enough? Just an idea...

not to sure. if the factory bolts are not long enough you could always buy some which are. ask steve at mbrp. he may be able to tell you.

They would in that case. I am not in the market for a bumper, though, I just was curious. I think the tow hooks mounted on the front would add to the looks and functionality of the bumper, giving you more options for a tug out of trouble, or pulling someone else out.

That's good to hear. I bought a winch mount stubby last month and I'm glad to hear they stand behind their product. I'm loving my bumper even though I still have to get my d-ring mounts and winch.
