Thumbs up MORE rockproof and bedliner

I picked up the rockproof for a good price second hand and used Rustoleum bed coat.


Here is how I did it:
Sanded down the rust by hand

Rustoleum "rust control" 2 coats.
I used a can and half for this job

Rustoleum sandable primer 2 coats.
Used two cans for primer coat.

Rustoleum bed coating 4 coats.
Used three cans.


Overall I cant complain and I was going to go with linex but figured I live in New England and the weather can be rough.. I want to be able to whip a can of bed coat out and spray it here and there if I need to. Its not as textured as the duplicolor stuff. Rustoleum gives more of a original bumper type plastic feel, if that makes sense.

Thanks, I really like quality of the bumper as well. The bed coating is really not that bad and I was nervous about not having it professionally coated but needless to say it came out good and saved me some green.

Looks good and it sounds like you put the right amount of work into it. I know those New England winters suck on metal. Let us know what it looks like in May.

A few days in and no lack of quality what so ever. I will use the bed coat for future projects.
