My JKU DIY trunk cover
After seeng the great $48 dollar trunk cover here, and one on another forum I decided to make my own. Here's what I had to buy:
1 sheet of 1/2" birch plywood...................$30
6 eyehooks, washers and nylon nuts..........$2
outdoor carpet......................................$19
spray glue............................................$1 0
Quart of urathane..................................$12
10ft Aluminum C Channel.........................$20
I could have gone cheaper on the plywood, carpet and aluminum, but I want this to last, and be strong. It's attached to the tub with the eyehooks in the factory holes where I think the hard top attaches. When the rear window attachy-thingy is in, the gap at the rear is gone.
It was a good weekend project.
