Default My turn for a DIY JK snorkel build

If you search for JKTester on YouTube you'll probably find a video of me hydrolocking my Rubicon while I still had the dealer plates on. From that moment on I knew I needed a snorkel. The problem was that I didn't like any of the aftermarket stuff out there. I wanted something that came out near the windshield, not the hood. After researching I found one from Wildboar but they took too long to come out with it. With the idea in my mind this is what I came up with. Unfortunately, I can't find a lot of the pictures of the build right now but I have the final product and the first draft. I created a mold with foam from an art supply store. I covered it with foil and put several layers of fiberglass. Once that was complete I put a layer of Bondo and sanded it down. I then covered it with bedliner. All that effort = first draft. It was too bulky for my liking I used my dremel and cut away a lot of the top and reapplied fiberglass and bondo. This is what I ended up with. I'll work on finding the build pictures. Let me know what you think.

I wanted to make sure there was enough air flow. It was really bulky at first. I was able to make it just a little bit smaller.

I thought about it for a long time and I just couldn't find a way to make it work. If the cowl wasn't welded to the body it would have been a lot easier.

I took no offense at all. It was HUGE! If I could start all over before any cuts were made or anything molded I would definitely do several things differently. The majority of the measurements to make this thing were all eyeball measurements.
