Thanks guys you all reassure me that painting was the right decision and saving that money I would have paid for the vinyl wrap for other mods

no You didnt miss it

Materials list:
12 inches of 1 1/2 inch angle iron
a small sheet of 1/8 inch steel plate
2- 2 inch bolts 4 washers and 2 wing nuts I used 5/16 bolts but you could use bigger if you like

It was pretty simple its just 2- 3" pieces of angle iron that i laid flat and welded together inside and out

then cut the bottom side that the hinge bolts go through down to 7/8's wide so it will fit down into the inlay of the hinge or what ever you call it

then i cut a piece of 1/8" steel 1 1/2" wide on the top and 7/8" wide on the bottom by 3" to weld on one side as a little bit of support

the two screws that are on the hinge are 2 1/8" from center to center so these holes will need to be drilled on the bottom side of the bracket that is 7/8's I used 3/8's drill bit just incase the holes were a lil off i could have some adjustment

for the top side I drilled a single whole with the 3/8s bit and got 2 bolts 4 washers and 2 wing nuts from lowes to hold it on... came out sturdy as hell

I like it a lot but now I will have to fab up some kind of bracket to raise my windshield lights about 1 inch or so to clear the jack

Hope this helps for some of you do it yourselfers out there that are trying to save money
