Default Nitto trail grapplers vs. Toyo Open Countries

I've seen both in action on you tube but never in real life. And I soon will be needing to buy some new tires but can't decide on what I really want....any suggestions? Experience with either?

I run 37x13.5 R17 Toyos and love them. Quieter the stock rubi tires and great on the trail. They run stiff so your psi is lower for street driving. I would by another pair in a heart beat.

Toyo and Nitto are sister companies. I was told when i bought my Trail Grapplers that they were designed around the Toyo's but had some extra benefits in them. I ran toyo's on my old ram and loved them, and i'm running the trail grapplers now with absolutely no complaints. They are awsome. I had them in the winter last year, which was pretty harsh here in Ohio and they were flawless. I loved them. However, they both are both one of the more heavier tires out there.

Hmmm didn't know they were sister companies. Have you guys noticed a significant price difference between the two? Or which tires seem to wear faster?

Yes they are sister companies. Same rubber, different molds. Toyos do come in some wider widths but other than that they are very similar. Toyos seem to run more expensive than the nittos. And yes both are e-rated and designed for heavier vehicles so run the pressure on the low side 28-30 lbs or so

Had both, they are both a deal for the $$.
When I bought my Nitto trails the shop that I went to said that Toyo's were only $5 more per tire but it would take a few days to get them in.

I guess it gets down to the look that you want.

I am currently running Toyo's in 37x13.50r17 and they are awesome tires. I just upgraded from 35's in the same tire no need to change brands for me plus i couldn't find the trail grapplers in 13.50 on a 17" wheel. On the road these tires are quiet as hell, ocompared to my brother which runs mud grapplers which you can't even hear yourself think over the hum lol.
