Default Off Road Trailer Build

I thought that I would share the off road trailer that I am building to tow behind my JK. I want something durable that I can take on the trails for camping trips, haul my boys dirt bikes to the trails and use it as a utility trailer. I started a couple weeks ago. Below is the progress. Let me know what you think.

A little further along, took it for a test drive around the neighborhood.

I'll post more pics as I progress.
Thanks
Steve

Nice, I love to see others doing this.

I just picked up my axles, h t t p://w w w.southwestwheel.com/store/showproduct.aspx?ProductID=2319&SEName=3500-lb-torsion-half-axlesyesterday, and they are the same bolt pattern as the JK. Can't wait to start welding it up.

As far as not knowing how to weld, this is a jeep community, I'm sure someone would help you learn. That is what I'm doing, and will have a trailer to show for it when I'm done.

What kind of hitch are you going to use? I'm looking at this one h t t p://w w w.adventuretrailers.com/coupler.html.

Will keep a watch on this trailer build, along with this one, https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/my-home-made-offroad-trailer-finally-done-104761/

And as far as ideas and such I have some links I could send you to some trailer forums, just PM me your email address, and I'll send em over.

Default Trailer Hitch

I have two trailer hitchs that I made.
The first, I made for off road use, but I tested it on the freeway at over 65MPH and it feels just like the second. Here they are unpainted.

I am replacing the pins with 5/8 bolts and I am going to weld the nuts on.
Below is my other option, obvioulsly, it wouldn't work off road.

Thanks,
Steve

Nice looking trailer! I like the fact that you can use factory size/style wheels (spare fits) What are the dimensions of it?
