In keeping with local ride club rules ... I bought a fire extinqiusher last week .... *$17 at Target. *Was a white Kidde Boat and Auto extinguisher and I painted it to match my JK since I had some paint left over from painting my roll bars ... *

Just need to get me a decal that says fire extinguisher for the back of the tailgate .... * ;D

 

That looks really good! I've just got mine mounted to the roll bar, never even thought about mounting it to the rear door, that's a really good idea.

Most folks mount to roll bar ... which is not very handy if your top is on ....

I figure with a tailgate mount even if I have something burning in the jeep or its full of smoke .. I can swing open the tailgate and grab the extinguisher ...

 

Makes sense. Hope it is rechargeable. That way you don't have to toss it if you ever have to use it.

The mount comes with the extinguisher ... it's not rechargable ... but it was $17 .... and $5 worth of spray paint ...

 

Looks great, I was looking at extinguishers while I was at Wally World today, but decided to put it off a little longer 'cuz I couldn't decide how to mount it. I might go ahead & get it now. Did you drill into the tailgate to mount the holder?

 

Looks great. I mounted two on the roll bars of my TJ, I haven't decided where to mount or on my JK yet. Maybe a small one under the driver seat and one in the back somewhere.

 

Looks great Did you use self tapping sheetmetal screws or pull the plastic vent grill and use nuts and lock washers?
