Pentastar engine
2012 model is supposed to get it. When it's supposed to start in that model year..........I would have to venture to guess right away. I'd be hard pressed to believe they would manufacture any 2012 without the pentastar. 2012's start coming in towards the end of the year(depending on where you're at), no?

Actually I drove a grand Cherokee with a Pentastar and it's an incredible engine .... Much better than this primitive 3.8 I'm working with now .... As much As I wish I could do extreme offroading everyday of my life I can't .... Therefore I would like a more refined, more powerful engine... So I don't think that I should be told to go get a minivan when I ask a simple question about the future of our jeeps ... Sorry for the inconvenience, i know I was wrong to ask.

For me I already have an 07.
I would be in the market by 2012 anyways. Depends on the options I guess. I kind of want the JK I have now as a tow rig, so I would need a hauling rig ideally. But another JK could end up there just as randomly as any other vehicle.
This JK needs diesel, that's what I really want. Diesel in 2012 means another JK for me, no doubting that. As mentioned above, there are many in favor of a CRD JK
