Totally agree with all of the above man. You shouldn't build it for other people as much as you build it for your self. If someone is truly proud of what they have done I fully respect their design. My thing is I'll look at someone's design and be like "what the hell" and then I'll ask them why they did what they did and as long as they're like" I did it cause I like it" or for a certain reason then I fully respect it. Ya know? And if I never get an answer then I don't think they are stupid for doing it or anything I just kind sit there and wonder why. They only reason I ever think slightly negative about someone's design is if they did it just because it's the most expensive thing on the market and they don't even like it they just wanted to show they have money.

Which brings me to your next point. The people who do nothing but talk about their money can drive me crazy haha
Me personally I feel a huge connection with my jeep because I have done every bit of work on it
The wheels, tires, exhaust, bumpers, rockslides, Rhyno lining my grill, snorkel... The list goes on and on and when it's all said and done I am truly proud of what I've done and no one will ever be able to talk me down. And I truly hope that everyone feels that way about there jeep because I have the up most respect for all of you guys. If there is one thing that we can all agree on its that no matter what we are proud to be jeep owners.

I have to admit to being annoyed when people refer to each and every thing they install on their jeep as a "mod", when I see much of what people do is install accessories. Everyone has an opinion, but to me in order to qualify as a mod it has to change either the basic structure of a vehicle or drastically alter its operation.

An example of the distinction for me would be I definitely agree that a lift is a mod, but just changing wheels probably not.

Installing a SC is a mod, but is just changing the drop in air filter to a K&N is not.

My JKU is bone stock as it came off the lot, so I don't have any desire to claim a long list of mods. The only change I've made that I feel may qualify as a mod is to have the transfer case cable swapped out for an Advance Adopters upgrade, but it wouldn't bother me if anyone claimed that wouldn't qualify as a mod.

^^* unfortunately Merriam - Webster disagree with your definition of modify aka mod. I would agree with you otherwise.

Flipping the Rear View mirror = NOT A MOD.

If it is, every time I roll down the window then that is a "MOD"
Every time I open the gas cap, that's a "MOD"
Every time I put air in the tires, that's a "MOD"

....

What's your point? The point I was making is that by definition, removing something that comes from the factory and replacing it with an aftermarket part is modifying aka modding. That being said, if you replaced your gas cap or tires then by definition you have modified the jeep. While I agree that the term mod can be annoying, it's the correct term. Haha, people will seriously argue anything on this forum.

So then by definition, changing the oil in your vehicle is a mod. My point is simply as others and yourself have stated that the use of the word "MOD" is over used. Or maybe when someone puts a long arm kit on their vehicle and use the word "MOD" then maybe they are using a word that is under valuating the change.

Haha, you're ridiculous. Well technically changing your oil would not be a mod because you're just replacing the oil with what came out. Now if you went to synthetic then by all means call it a mod. But if my factory fender flare gets ripped off by a snow plow and I replace it with a mopar replacement flare it's not a mod. Moving forward all will have to go through me to determine whether the use of the term mod applies or not.

Your wife had no complaints about it.
