Default Anyone have pics of 4 dr JK w 33" Tires & 2.5" Lift needed

I made a MAJOR blunder. Put 35" tires on my 08 JK and now it does not move and gets at best 10 mpg. Looking to go with 33" tires but feel it my look off balance with 2.5" Terra Flex lift. Thinking about pulling lift off as well, but have concerns of 33" tires rubbing. Any pics out there showing 33" tires on 08 4 door JK with and without lift? I have 5 35/1250/17 Pro Comp Extreme ATs with the nubs still on them, less than 1500 miles...sell em cheap and lick my wounds for being an idiot

Default 2.5 bb with 3/4 spacer in front

Here you go, 33 12.50 17's

TF 2.5 bb with 3/4 spacers on top of the 2.5 lift spacer in front to level it out.

I ran this same set up with the 33's and stock tires with no rubbing.

What gear ratio do you have? If you're getting such bad mileage with 35's I don't see it improving much with 33's. Have you thought about getting a gear ratio change? Maybe change to 4:88 to 1. It'll probably cost you about the same as a set of 5 good quality tires plus mounting/balancing/etc. and get you back up to 15+ MPG and more usable power and you'll still have decent sized tires.

thanks buddy I appreciate the advice. i knew i was going to lose some power and mpg but what i ended up with is absolutely awful...looks great runs like crap. 10mpg is highway milage and is constantly running at 5K on the tack to get up hills or manage head winds, around town its more like 7mpg not to mention zero pwr. if i could get 15mpgs and get up a hill without putting it to the floor i would be in heaven. so you think this is a solution better than going to

Hey man , I wanted 35's with my 4 dr. but I didn't because of a # of reasons . I have a 2.5 in. lift and 3/4 spacers with 33's and I think it's perfect for now. Someday I'll learn how to post pics.

How about 34's with no lift.....Yet. 305/70 r17 Nitto's

Did have to use 1.5 spidertra spacers to prevent some rubbing on turns though.

Wil be fitting the lift soon though..it looks a little bit cramped for me.

sweet Jeep! im looking at doing the exact same thing with mine. but with a aev snorkle instead. but hows the gas miladge with the 33's and breathing through the snorkle. im am concerned with the snorkle restricting the air flow to the engine. Can you tell if it cuts on Hp and Torque?

This is probably a bit late to an old thread, but here are 33s on a four door with a 2.5" RC lift. I have the 4.10 gears and it runs okay--all gears usable, but MPG dropped from 20.5 to 16.5 (other mods were in the mix that added weight, but tires seemed to have the most deleterious impact). Would NOT want to be on 35s with those gears, however!
