Default Plastidip - Hardtop interior- Part 1

I FINALLY started working on getting rid of the ugly white interior. I almost had Line-X take care of it when I took my jeep to see them, but the added weight/cost didn't seem worth it. I took the plunge and prepped/painted my front panels for my 2010. All in all it wasn't that much work, but 5 coats with 30 mins dry time between is a little time consuming. I know you can buy 1 gal / 5 gal buckets of this stuff, which would allow you to use a spray gun, but I just bought the rattle can Plastidip at home depot, I think it was $6/can and I used about a can and a half on each front panel. I fully expect to use 6 - 10 cans on the big piece, but still. under $100 = win.

I've yet to try Plasti-Dip. What texture/feel does it have once dry? Does it seem to put off a strong odor, or out-gas much?

What do you think are the advantages of going with this over traditional spray paint? My rough understanding is that this could be removed if desired?

Thanks!

So far no odor. I don't expect it to peel, as the surface was prepped, and painted to spec, adequate dry time plenty of coats. the texture has sort of a rubbery feel. I think if you were SUPER worried about it peeling, just spray a coat of black primer before doing the plasti dip coats. overall i'm super happy with it. I strongly advise figuring out how much weight you'll add with linex/bedliner etc etc LineX actually steered me away from doing the interior for that reason.

I'm really happy with it, everyone who sees it loves it. will keep you guys posted on how it stands up against the test of time.

And once I get the big part done I'll post some more pics.

Then why plast dip and not paint? I will def go plasti dip route if it's a better option
