JK Show & Tell Whether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Is it possible?

Default Is it possible?

Hey guys, I've been reading about some of the crazier mods that some of you do and am now curious about the possibility of a hemi swap. Can anyone chime in and maybe break down the realistic costs for me? Tax time is coming around pretty soon and I'll prob have in the neighborhood of 8K to throw into this thing, but after looking at some of your threads I'm a little intimidated to be honest. Can I even think about doing a hemi swap for 8K?

Default hemi swap

Look at jeepspeedshop.com they re-use alot of the factory equipment and they claim you could do a hemi swap for a little over 7k if you DIY.

I forgot to mention that their kits passed SMOG regulations in California

Depending on your level of knowledge and access to tools, it looks like between 8-10.

All I can chime in on is what I am currently doing:
Used engine/transmission
AEV premium DIY kit
I am just shy of 10k. If you can find a good deal on the engine/trans, that can save you a ton. I went with the lowest mileage/best condition engine/trans combo I could find, and have heard nothing but good things about the AEV kit.

Depending on what combo you get (used vs. new), and what kit you end up with, I would say that 7-12k for a DIY is about right.
