Is the mounting location under the hood fixed? It looks like it will interfere with the ARB compressor mounting location. It would be great to be able to run both.

You can mount the box anywhere you want. You can even mount it on its side or upside down. That was just the location they decided to use. Their mounting bracket is made to fit there but as I recall the bracket is an option that does not come with the kit. Some people in the past have mounted the unit in the cab although I think it would be difficult to run the wireing harness through the firewall on the JK's.

That's excellent news. Now for you welders out there, is it worth getting one of these if I want to tinker witha welder in the garage? I have used stick welders in the past enough to hopefully get me off the trail but I'd like to get better and I'm not sure 2 welders are affordable/

I have used the one in my XJ to build a gate on a friends property. It works great however due to the fact that you have to run your engine at a high idle durring welding ( about 1300-1500 RPM it is kind of a pain in the butt to use for big projects.

You have the patience of a Saint. Looks like it was worth the wait, though. At least everyone else will now benefit from your experience. Oh, and having seen this Jeep in person recently, I can attest to the very clean installation!
