Default Another Daveys Jeep

Here's my Davey's Jeep Rebuild.

The speed that you are getting this done makes my progress look pitiful. But I can see the light at the end of my tunnel.

Great job and I'm following this thread to the end.

as for the tires, something in a mainly black 17x9 wheel, can't decide yet, with a 35x12.5r17 BFG MT KM2. i've concidered the IROKs, as i run those on the YJ and LOVE them ... but they have a much shorter road life, and they almost stick to the road too good. i love to get the rear end loose in the rain, or play with it now and then without feel bad about looseing 1000 miles of tread ... but even with the stroker, 4.56s, and a ceramic clutch, they won't break loose even in the rain.

Sounds great thats a good choice goin with the 2" coils instead since youll be running flat flares itll give it a great filled out look with the 35s, good luck the rest of the way, we cant wait to see it done

what are you going to do to get rid of all the rust on the windshield frame and door?

and do you know what they check at the enhanced inspection to make you pass a wrecked ride?

I'd really actually love to build one for a trail jeep only actually

i'll clean the burnt pannels up with mainly sand paper, but then i'll blast the seam to make sure. i then plan to coat them with Chassis Saver to stop any rust that might still be there, before primer and paint.

the enhanced mainly checks where all your parts came from ... you have to have documentation showing none were stollen. also a gazillion pictars before durring and after. other then that you just have to pass the general inspection ... it don't have to be pretty.

if your just lookin for a trail rig, you can get one in worse shape then mine was. the burn shell of the 09 4-door i got my parts off of is still sittin up at Davey's just BEGGING to have someone throw some DOM and a v-8 at it.
