Default Rust

I have a 2011 jku, and today while washing it I notice several rust spots and chips. Is this normal? It really seems as if the paint is soft on these things.

I know people on here are all for mud and dirt, but this thing was my dream vehicle and I've babied it since the day I rolled it off the lot. Waxed it once a month for the past 20 months and don't understand how I can have rust. Any suggestions?

It's called 'patina' - adds character. No way to avoid it if you don't garage it.

I garage it. It's a 3rd vehicle for us so it lives in our garage. It maybe saw snow 4 times in 2 years, and sits in a fully enclosed garage 5 days a week. I wash it nearly once a week or at least once every two, and wax it monthly.

I haven't had it oil sprayed, but when I bought it they sold me the paint sealant spray from the dealership for $150.

Just frustrated with it. I know people will always find something, and the comment of "I've spent 30k and this is what I get..." Has been played out, but c'mon. 2yrs old and signs of rusting?! Ill have a pile of scrap when it's finally paid off!

On a side note, photos were taken and submitted to Chrysler to see if they'll do anything. Ill be even more let down if they don't. Warn just sent me a new pillar for my winch that had paint chipping off of a 7 year old winch at no charge. Not even shipping! If Chrysler can't back up a 2yr old jeep, why even warranty it at all. Or just sell it to me bear metal so I can get it painted or bed lined.

Touch up paint. Mopar PW-7 to be exact for your Jeep. Cover them before they have a chance to rust.

mine is rusting on the windshield bracket like yours. i have it at my dealership right now fixing a leaky door and a transmission leak. they took pictures of the rust and sent it to jeep to see if its covered by warantee. mine is also a 2011 with 20k miles on it
