Default Gas Mileage

With about 1500 miles on the new engine, I'm getting about 12.5mpg. For comparison, that's what I was getting with the stock engine with RIPP's headers and cat back system. The Jeep has 37x13.5 Toyo's, geared 5.13 with and auto tranny.

As the engine breaks in I'm hoping for low to mid 14's for gas mileage.

mvbeggs, why the cherokee motor over the truck motor? Is the power rating different?

Default still working on mine

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/atta...hmentid=100706

Mine is still a work in progress as well, I'm doing all the work by myself so its moving along little by little. Just got my dana 60 axles and have the rear installed and working on the front now. Working with Kenny at River Raiders for some custom rear crusher conners and fender flares. they will be the next item to be installed then the sports cage and the stealth rack and LED Lights. Then after thats done i'll be doing my heated leather seats.

Actually, the conversion was supposed to use a crate 5.7L truck motor. At the time, the truck motor was hard to come by, so we switched to the Cherokee motor. The two motors are identical with the exception of the intake. The Cherokee makes slightly more horsepower but less torque than the truck motor. Originally I chose the truck motor because I felt torque was more important than horsepower for pulling the large 37 inch tires. The Cherokee motor does just fine. Either motor would serve you well.

Dan McKeag, the owner, is the guy you want to talk to. Brian is also very knowledgeable.

If you test drive any of the hemis be prepared to do a conversion...you just can't go back to the 3.8L after driving a hemi!

Good luck!
