It doesn't... As you can see in the pics, the corners are cut up, so they give a MUCH better departure angle... as far as the rear center... I'd say they are about the same. Basically when you install this bumper it is TIGHT around your rear frame members... it really doesn't drop it any lower. Plus you get a better departure angle w/the tire mounted up higher.
im gonna get the rockhard if the shrock rear isnt released here soon

I think I like the LoD rear bumper. It has what I am looking for, but would want to cut holes and install lights in the bumper. Just not sure if there is enough room between the d-ring mounts and the "tool box".
Any Pros/Cons on this bumper? Can you post some pics?

+1. I like the idea of the Lod bumper. For the money it seems like an awesome deal.
