Show Your Rig Pulling someone out or other way around
ok.. I posted this (and more) in the recon winch thread... but this is where it belongs.
Car in the middle of the road..

Idiot tried to go around it..

I pull it some 20 feet... idiot spins tires bad, and back end drifts.. he gets scared and hits the breaks... I can't get him moving again.

Another jeeper appears and we both pull... we make some progress.. but it wasn't meant to be.

I winch him another 5-10 feet out (tied to telephone poll) but the angle is horrible, I don't own a snatch block (yet) and The diesel is basically being pulled sideways up a 30-40 degree slope.. Oh well.. was worth a try!

Good try! BTW, I would never pull a rig backwards. The R&P's are weaker in reverse and you could damage them. Did you try pulling going forward? And I agree, a snatch block would of doubled your winch pull if you had one. BTW, did that car ever get unstuck?

I'm currently shopping for a good stocked recovery bag.. any suggestions?
The car was abandoned... probably a couple guys pushing would have gotten it going again.. looked like it had only been there an hour or so... people can be so inconsiderate. LOL
When I left, they guy had called his friend who had a 70s model 1 ton with some kind of a winch on the back... his truck wasn't there the next morning... so he must have escaped!
according to this guy here, he was going down the road "at fifty miles per hour and was feelin' froggy, so I goosed it and slid sideways into the guardrail"... he was facing on-coming traffic when I arrived.
well, I broke out the 24,000 lb snatch strap and all it took was one good yank. It was COLD and the wind was blowing, so I didn't stick around for aftermath photos. I love my heater

and heres ToeJam, all filthy and what have you.
